Throughout the early 1960's and 70's, Alan was enjoying small and intimate club stages with up and coming UK Folk Club Circuit acts.
Singer Songwriter and musical influences included Pete and Peggy Seeger, Tom Paxton, Hedie West, Labi Sifri, Billie Connolly, Gerry Rafferty, The Humblebums, Ralf McTell and Pentangle.
Acoustical finger style techniques were developed in the company of the superbly talented acoustic guitarists, Davey Graham, John Renbourn, Bert Jansch, Stephan Grossman and Richard Thompson of Fairport Convention formed in 1967.
During 1968/69 the Beatles were recording their White Album and James Taylor was recording his first album for the Apple Label at Apple Studios.
Alan aquired a life long love of ballads from artists such as James Taylor, Carol King, The Everly Brothers and Eagles - to name but a few.
